You can now validate the logic in the puzzles that you create to ensure that the puzzles have 1 unique solution.

Version 3.1:

  1. Windows XP/NT Support
Brain Cell now runs under Windows XP and windows NT.

  2. Create Puzzles Enhancement
You can now create puzzles, where the answers don't have a set order.

Version 3.0:

  2.  New Types of Puzzles
Brain Cell now supports new types of puzzles. It is no longer just a set of puzzles matching up heights, weights, etc to people’s names. Puzzles can be different sizes and can have entirely different categories of answers.

  3.  Install New Puzzles
New puzzle sets can be downloaded from http://www.jacobsys.com/puzzles.htm and installed into your copy of Brain Cell.

  4. Create your own puzzles
You can create your own logic puzzles and bring them to life with Brain Cell. Puzzles may be exported to be shared with other users.

  5. Unlimited Undo
You may now go back to any number of moves when playing in logic grid mode.

  6. Logic Grid
The clue window can be sized to see all of the clues at once.

  7. Replay Option
You may now replay the same generated puzzle with or without the logic grid.

Version 2.0

  1. Logic Grid Play
A logic Grid mode of play has been added to Brain Cell. (The standard mode is still available). Instead of merely dragging the characteristics to the answer grid, you may now opt to indicate true and false combinations in a standard logic grid. Brain Cell will then automatically fill in the answer from the logic grid.
  2. Puzzle Elapsed Time
    -Elapsed time is displayed.
-A pause button will suspend timer.
-Minimizing the puzzle screen will suspend the timer.
  3. Player Options
-A player sign-in screen was added.
-You may select default start-up options - such as start-up data, start-up level, logic grid or basic play.
    - You may store and retrieve personal quick-start data to be used in generating puzzles.
  4. Hall of Fame
-Five players will enter the Hall of Fame per level.
-A time penalty was added for hints, but you may still enter the hall of fame even if you have used a hint
-The Hall of Fame can be viewed from the first Brain cell Screen
  5.  Statistics
A Brain Cell Statistics screen was added to display both overall and personal statistics:
    - number of games played
    - number of games won
    - best times
    - average times
  6. Expanded Help
A tutorial has been added, showing how to solve Brain Cell logic puzzles
  7.  Replay Option
You may now re-play a generated puzzle. You can try to beat your previous time; you can save it for another player to play; or you can just re-start if you have made some mistakes.
  8.  Data Restrictions
-Duplicate values are not allowed as lead to misleading clues
-Values that are used in comparisons are restricted.
  9.  Bug Fixes
    - Some of the generated puzzles did not always yield a unique solution. This has been fixed.
    - The level 2 and 3 puzzle generators have been swapped, as level 3 was easier than level 2.
