Green Grocer (GreenGrocer.zip) :  contributed by Barry Day

Our local Greengrocer/Fruitier is of the old-style. You know, where they put out all the fruit and vegetables out in a splendid array in front of the shop. I got a part-time Saturday job there and turned up promptly at 8am and asked what I had to do.
You can tell it was my first day on the job by the gleam in old Bill's eye as he said.....

Dinner with Friends (Dinner.zip) :

Five friends went out to dinner together. They each ordered something entirely different from the menu. This was quite an ordeal for the waitress who delivered everything to the wrong person. She also delivered the food in the exact opposite sequence from how it was ordered. It was her first day on the job. Can you help her out by figuring out who ordered what and in what sequence they ordered?

  Insomnia (Insomnia.zip) :

What a night! Everyone in the family woke up in the middle of the night. Each family member, Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother and Grandma went to the kitchen and got a snack. They woke up at hour intervals starting at 1 AM. The snacks they ate were a chicken leg, a bowl of cereal, a sandwich, a piece of chocolate cake, and a dish of ice cream. Who woke up when and which snack did each family member have?

Chess (Chess.zip) :  contributed by William Pelletier  visit his web-site for more great puzzles!

During the final round of Georgia's All-State Chess Tournament, the eventual top 4 finishers in the tournament played their final game against 4 different opponents. The tournament boards were numbered from 1 to 50 to facilitate location and identification of games. Each of the top 4 finishers played a different opening in this last game. Use the clues to determine the first and last names of the first through fourth place winners of the tournament, the chess opening each used in his last game, and the number of the chess board on which he played his final game.

Nero Fox (Nero.zip) :  contributed by Judy Spence  visit her web-site for more great puzzles!

That over-weight, eccentric arm-chair detective, Nero Foxx has done it again! He invited the five main suspects in the case to his office for what his assistant, Everett Goodwin, calls the final show-down, and the police sneeringly refer to as grand-standing. Each of the five suspects in this case ---Anne, Clint, Nancy, Samuel, and Tim, are in some order, surnamed Blenderman, Champagne, Kaser, Micka, and Pelletier) and they arrived at Nero's brownstone residence in a different order, first thru fifth. Each suspect is engaged in a different profession (attorney, banker, dentist, model, or photographer). After a modest (and which Nero prefers to think of as genius) outline of how he reached his conclusions, the murderer's identity was revealed and he or she was taken into custody by the police. Determine each suspects first and last name, profession, and order of arrival.

Football Fans (Football.zip) :  contributed by William Pelletier  visit his web-site for more great puzzles!

Joseph and his 3 brothers are big fans of the Detroit Lions football team, so they were thrilled to win tickets to watch the Lions play for the NFL championship in the 1998 Superbowl. The boys wore their favorite jerseys, each a different color, to the game and sat together in 4 seats in a row. Each boy visited the concession stand during a different quarter of the game and bought a different snack from that of his brothers. Use the clues and table below to determine the order in which the boys sat, the colors of their shirts, the quarter in which each boy bought his snack, and what snack each boy bought.

Dining Out in Style (Dining.zip) :  contributed by Judy Spence  visit her web-site for more great puzzles!

Mrs. White was the first to arrive at Diovanni's Restaurant where she and the other 5 Clue suspects plan to spend Valentine's Day chowing down on the best spaghetti in the area. Being in a somewhat festive mood and wanting to mark the occasion as one to remember, she brought with her three different paper sacks.

In one sack was a variety of utensils to eat with (chop sticks, ice cream scoop, pie server, soup ladle, and tongs), in a second a variety of different types of containers to drink from (a tin can, a 2-handled mug, a mason jar, a measuring cup, and a flower vase), and in a third a variety of different items to use for protecting ones clothing (a baby bib, a hand towel, a diaper, a handkerchief, and a pillow case)!

From the clues, you must determine the order in which each of the other 5 Clue suspects arrived, and the item each drew out of each of the three sacks.

Tennis Match (Tennis.zip) : Five mixed-doubles tennis teams each won the World Cup Tennis Tournament in five consecutive years. Your job is to match up the pairs and determine what country they represented and which year they won.

Stock Market (Stocks.zip) : Five friends formed a stock market club. Each started with $1000 dollars. They each used all of their money to buy shares of a different stock. At the end of 1 year, the winner would be the one with the most money. You must place the players in order of the ending value of their portfolio.
